Here I am: writer extraordinaire.

Don’t I look writerly? Seriously. Take a close look. That grin right there has WRITER written all over it, doesn’t it?

Okay, not so much, but trust me, I’m pretty passionate about writing.

To be quite honest, it all started with Santa Claus. At the wizened age of five, I picked up a pen and paper and told the story of that great red behind sliding down the chimney, and I presented it to the family on Christmas Eve. When my older brother put a stamp of approval (actually, a Christmas tree) on the paper, I knew exactly what I would become.

I’ve been busy since then. In fact, I’m currently writing my next novel, Men Waiting For Sleep, not to mention a collection of short stories, another collection of poems called By Flood Waters, and about twenty articles a day for WISEGEEK.

See? I told you I’m a word nerd.

What else do I do? It just so happens I’m also a photographer. Check out my portfolio at D2 PHOTOGRAPHY if you don’t believe me.

I also love to play the guitar. Would you believe me if I told you I used to be in a rippin’ rock band when I lived in Maine?

Oh, and we can’t forget about the bicycle. I’m an avid mountain biker and road biker, and I was a bike mechanic for about a decade. Turning wrenches makes for great stories…

My wonderful wife Rachel makes sure I keep my prose tight and my melodrama toward the end of the book—if it simply MUST be in there at all—and my dog Molly treats me to great walks in the woods and the occasional surprise visit to the vet. It’s a good life here in the desert southwest.
